Quality Control Music co-founder Pierre "P" Thomas reportedly suffered a heart attack last week and was hospitalized in Las Vegas, but sources say his health is improving. According to TMZ, Thomas was hospitalized on Friday, Aug. 21.

Alongside Kevin “Coach K” Lee, the music exec has helped launch the careers of stars including Migos, Lil Baby and City Girls

After news broke of P’s hospitalization, representatives for the label shared an official statement on social media.

“We want to clarify that Pierre ‘P’ Thomas is alive and currently hospitalized receiving medical care,” the statement says. “We ask that everyone keep P and his family in their thoughts and prayers and respectfully give them the privacy and space they need during this time. We deeply appreciate everyone’s concern, support, prayers, and loving energy right now.”

Thomas and Lee co-founded Quality Control in 2013. The Atlanta-based label and music-and-sports management company has launched the careers of numerous artists and managed several athletes. The label signed Migos within one month of Thomas and Lee’s co-founding. The label’s roster has included OG Maco, Lakeyah, Rich The Kid, Stefflon Don and many more over the years.

On Tuesday, Aug. 25, Coach K issued a follow-up on P’s condition.

“I’m so grateful to share that P is improving and recovering more and more every day,” Lee posted on Facebook. “Your prayers are working, so please keep them coming. So thankful for our brother’s continued healing and for all the love, prayers, and support surrounding him. During this time, we ask that you please continue to respect P and his family’s privacy as he focuses on healing and recovery. God is good”

In 2023, Quality Control was acquired by Hybe America, led by Scooter Braun, before he stepped down as CEO in July 2025. The purchase was roughly $300 million in cash and stock, according to financial disclosures.
