MAVI's Let The Sun Talk is a powerful introduction to slow-rap royalty in the making. Meanwhile, Benny The Butcher and Smoke DZA's Statue of Limitations is a warp-speed tour of NYC's golden era(s), produced entirely by Pete Rock.

The year's closing quarter gets a bit clearer on the singles side. Gang Starr officially announced the posthumous Guru album we hoped was in the works with the razor-sharp single "Bad Name."
