On ‘Sway In The Morning,’ the B2K singer was asked about “hit or miss” comments regarding his abilities as a singer.

Omarion is responding to some recent commentary from Mario on the former B2K member’s talents as a singer. Back in October, Mario spoke about Omarion’s vocal abilities during an appearance on Cam Newton’s Funky Friday podcast. His review was less than glowing.
“Omarion, it be hit or miss for me sometimes,” Mario said at the time.
During an appearance on Sway In The Morning, Omarion said that artists should be more supportive of each other. When host Sway Calloway mentioned the comment, Omarion said it was a “wild conversation” to have.
“I think when people critique artists, they gotta look at themselves, as well,” Omarion said. “Art is art. Also, we’re at different levels. Our experience, the things that are occurring in our lives. That’s not to make any excuse, but I think those are important factors.”
Omarion and Mario battled in 2022’s Verzuz, where fans debated their vocal performances online. When asked if he could see himself working with Mario in the future, Omarion was dismissive of the idea.
“I’m not sure,” Omarion says. “I don’t think so. I think that, for me, it’s all about respect. I think you can have your opinion, but the moment I feel like there’s no respect there, I’m cool. I’d rather step back. I don’t think there’s respect there, especially for somebody like me who has been doing it before him. It’s not by chance; it’s by hard work. It’s true.”
