Zero Freitas Unveils Plan To Bring His Colossal Vinyl Collection To The World

Record collector Zero Freitas in his massive vinyl vaultZero Freitas Vinyl Collection

Perhaps you recall a man by the name of Zero Freitas, who made headlines last year as the man out for all of the world's vinyl. Literally, all of it. The Brazilian bus mogul-turned-record hoarder had his collection swell to the 7-figure mark in the last few years, and has finally revealed exactly what he intends to do/already done with those mountains of wax, the pictures of which were literally enough to make your friendly neighborhood crate digger pull his or her out. In a recent interview with the BBC, Freitas explained that he's employed a team to help clean, sort and catalogue his records, which are properly situated in a warehouse in Brazil. What's more, Freitas intends to do more than build a physical library of vinyl rarities. He divulged plans to make the collection available for your non-mogul eyes to browse and ears to hear somehow in the near future. Though at 5 million records and counting, it doesn't seem like we'll get that chance anytime soon. The digitizing effort alone could potentially take decades. But hey, it's the thought the counts, right? Watch Zero Freitas discuss his plans for the collection below and stay tuned for more info as this historic undertaking begins.
