Yuna comes through with some new sights, unveiling the official video for her single "Broke Her." It finds the Malaysian soulstress lamenting the loss of a lover that never deserved her in the first place, repurposing the pluck of strings from Adam Feeney and Chester Stone Henson's "Vibez" (prominently featured in Drake's "0-100") for her own take on the wavy, reverb-drenched soul of the slow-burning groove. The visual follows as she frees herself from the mental and physical clutter of a bad break-up, perfectly capturing the melancholic aftershock and the blissful return to normalcy.
It's been some time since we've heard the lovely lilt of Yuna's vocal treatments, but this new joint is another gleaming example of why she should be on everyone's night-time-is-the-right-time playlist. What's more, she's got a few west coast shows lined up for the end of the month in Los Angeles and San Francisco. So if you're out yonder, check her site for the dates and times. "Broke Her" is a loose one, but if you're looking for an album that'll pull on some heart strings, her 2013 release Nocturnal should certainly be considered and copped on iTunes.
