The lyrical skills of Your Old Droog have never been up for debate. After all, the Brooklyn MC was at first thought to be Nas in disguise when his raspy voiced tracks began dropping out of thin air. Since then Droog has gone on to release both his debut self-titled LP and a new EP, Kinison, proving that his talent is diverse, deep and here to stay.
Right now Your Old Droog is on tour with DJ Premier and Royce Da 5'9's PRhyme tour as it criss-crosses the country in the name of classic hip-hop aesthetics. And last week, it seems, Droog went an upped the ante, dropping a 70 second freestyle for a fan during the tour's Chicago stopover. In just over a minute Droog manages to rap about Marvel vs. Capcom, prank calls, tennis and mixing mayonaise and ketchup. It's an eminently solid a cappella from an MC outstanding his field. Watch Your Old Droog's freestyle below and keep a keen ear out for more of his surprise gems.
UPDATE: We've been made aware that Chicago music organ Elevator was also on the scene for Droog's freestyle, and captured extended, multi-angle footage of the freestyle in question. Watch it below.
