Willow Smith's "November 9th" is an Inspiring Plea for Strength in a Trump World

Four years away from being able to actually vote in a presidential election, Willow Smith is displaying a rare sense of political awareness for an adolescent. Which isn't to say that heiress to Bel Air has ever shied away from the heavy stuff, but today she tackles them head-on, releasing the cathartic and reactionary "November 9th," pleading for strength in a dreamy acoustic composition reminiscent of some of The Beatles' best balladry.

The track arrives at the tail-end of a prolific year for the young talent, who released the exceptional debut full-length album ARDIPITHECUS almost exactly one year ago and lit up the stage with her dad at Roots Picnic's Philly installment back in June. This year she'll also join Kid Cudi on his next studio outing, whenever that finally gets clearance to land and has just released a line of fittingly-cosmic socks with STANCE. Listen to the latest from Willow Smith in the player below and hold tight for her next transmission in the weeks and months ahead.
