This winter will see the digitally-restored release of two legendary sixties soul and pop showcases; 1964's Teenage Awards Music International (T.A.M.I) showcase and 1966's Big T.N.T. The former being where James Brown notoriously upstaged The Rolling Stones on a line-up that featured Marvin Gaye, The Beach Boys, Smokey Robinson and more; the latter, where Ike & Tina Turner brought new life to The Godfather's "Please, Please, Please," on a bill that included Ray Charles, Bo Diddley and other luminaries of r&b.
Today we're gifted a rare clip of Ike & Tina's raucous cover, finding the r&b queen in full roar as she takes on the classic, which is available for your to see and hear down below. Both the T.A.M.I. and Big T.N.T. performances arrive on in a Collector's Edition bundle on December 2nd via Shout! Factory, with commentary from T.A.M.I. Show director Steve Binder, new interviews with Petula Clark and Lovin' Spoonful's John Sebastian and a 36-page book that details the two concerts, respectively, making it the perfect stocking stuffer for the old soul. Watch the performance down below and hold tight for pre-order links to go live in the weeks ahead.
