Video: The Internet Purple Naked Ladies Doc + "Live It Up"

Syd Tha Kid and Matt Martians of the Internet documented (allowed someone to document? it's unclear) their studio interaction and downtime during the creation of their new LP Purple Naked Ladies, resulting in this 20-minute short doc. Syd is clearly over-reaching a little on some of the interview segments, for instance commenting on how scary it is for people that their music sounds unlike anything else ever recorded (methinks Tha Kid doth protest too much). That is just not true. This new track "Live It Up" (not included on the LP tracklist of PNL, for reasons unknown) for instance; it sounds a little bit like Little Dragon...or maybe Crystal Waters and Me'Shell Ndegeocello hanging out on a lazy afternoon, drinking sizzurp. It even reminds me in a weird way of Digable Planets' "Creamy Spies." All of which is to say, it's one of the best things we've heard from The Internets yet, and makes the sweeping statements of the young artists a lot easier to take at face value. Watch (above), listen (below) and cop Purple Naked Ladies here.
