Round here we don't like to call something a World Premiere unless it somehow encompasses a truly global vision. Its just our little way of avoiding the 'world famous italian eatery' syndrome ("like people over in Kathmandu are really going crazy for these calzones"). Can't think of a better example than this World Premiere of Quantic & Alice Russell with the Combo Barbaro. Their new project Look Around the Corner was recorded in Colombia and the UK and incorporates Caribbean folk and American soul and gospel with the Afro-Colombian roots of Combo Bárbaro. Like the video for the title track, "I'll Keep My Light in My Window" (made famous by The Temptations) was recorded at a direct-to-disc session at The Carvery Studios, Hackney, London, in August 2011 in the middle of the London Riots and is approached as a documentary of that particularly soulful moment rather than a conventional video. Look Around the Corner is out April 3rd on Tru Records in the US, April 2nd in the rest of the world. Pre-order it here. UPDATE: Quantic & crew are also bringing the world to your doorstep with a grip of US dates, starting next week March 14th. Find the full listing along with the LP art and tracklist after the jump.
