After weeks of teasing morsels, ranging from phone-filmed party-preview to full-blown live performances in London, we can finally hear Vic Mensa's sinister turn-up anthem "U Mad," featuring Kanye West and produced by Stefan Ponce, Mike Dean and Smoke Ono.  Trap drums and big, bold horn lines punctuate the track, providing the perfect backdrop for Mensa's flame-tested verbal and a quick, swagtastic line or two from Ye. It's been speculated that the track may be off Yeezy's forthcoming So Help Me God LP, but now that we know who the featured artist is, it seems safe to say that that won't be the case. It should be noted that the track is a marked departure from the far more danceable, feel good type numbers Mensa had been concocting with his Savemoney crew and Kaytranadabut certainly shines some needed light on his wordplay, which has always been a strong suit for the Chicago bomber. There's talk that Mensa's major label debut is in the works, but this being the most overwhelmingly active year in music in recent memory, let's hope he holds off, if not for the sake of just giving the record the shine it (could) deserve. You can listen to the full CDQ version of Vic Mensa and Kanye's "U Mad" below. Stay tuned for the next episode.
