Van Hunt Unveils Soul-Strutting New Cut "Teach Me A New Language" + A New Clip For "Old Hat"
Van Hunt has spent the past few weeks dropping gem after funky gem in preparation for his fourth studio album The Fun Rises, The Fun Sets, which will arrive on May 5th via his own Godless Hotspot imprint. The latest cut to make way from that anxiously anticipated piece is a recall to soul and funk's glory, and really our most cherished Van Hunt moments on his self-titled debut and stud sophomore record On The Jungle Floor. "Teach Me A New Language" channels the purply blues of P-Funk and Eddie Hazel with gurgling and phased, Bootsy-esque bass lines, but this intimate new cut is so much more than a "Frantic Moment" update. A floaty hook, shades of country funk guitar and punctuating claps & slaps make this thing a beast unto its own and provides yet another testament to the imminent greatness we are to expect from the new record. But the fun doesn't stop there, as VH also let loose some treats for your eyes, dropping the official, city-slicking video for last week's offering "Old Hat" today as well. Rock with Van Hunt's latest cut "Teach Me A New Language" and the video for "Old Hat" below. Preorder The Fun Rises, The Fun Sets on iTunes ahead of the May 5th drop.
