Earth Amplified x stic.man of dead prez "Food Fight" (Saving Kids From Processed Junk)

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Earth Amplified presents "Food Fight" (Saving Kids From Processed Junk) featuring stic.Man of dead prez. The title and lyrical content of the track refers to a veritable ground fight occurring across the country as concerned citizens defend against disease, poor dietary habits, lack of exercise and obesity by spreading the gospel of healthier alternatives. stic.Man came correct in 2011 with The Workout - his timely compilation of tracks advocating a healthier lifestyle from vegetarianism to marathon running. Earth Amplified taps the homie stic. for his own addition to the revolution against processed, genetically modified and nutritionally deficient foods. The video filmed in Oakland follows a boy attempting to escape the glut of processed foods wiping out his neighborhood. His narrative is a microcosm of the struggle faced by children across the nation in low income neighborhoods flooded with a lack of nutritional diversity and bad eating habits encouraged by the targeted advertising of major corporations. Earth Amplified urges the nation's children to eat healthier in spite of the fact that many of them exist in areas unofficially zoned as food deserts and requests that they get off of the sofa - a task more difficult than it seems for children accustomed to a constant stream of media and virtual gaming. Earth Amplified's campaign falls directly in line with First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move campaign, which urges people of all ages to be more active - especially youth. Earth Amplified has taken his efforts two steps further with a curriculum to teach kids about making the proper choices to live healthier and a fundraising campaign to raise money for SOS Juice - a non-profit that will improve health, promote sustainable agriculture and create jobs through the sale of compost, smoothies and fresh juice.
