As some of music's biggest names gather in Los Angeles to perform at Camp Flog Gnaw, the fall festival's curator, Tyler The Creator, is already lining up his next act. And it won't be of the overtly musical sort. In January, Tyler will release a documentary that chronicles the creation of his 2015 release, Cherry Bomb.
That album, extensively praised by critics and pedestrians alike, featured high-profile guests like Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Leon Ware and Charlie Wilson, as well as some of new school r&b giants like The Internet's Syd, Kali Uchis and more. And the documentary seems poised to pull us in a little closer than the album itself was able, with peaks into Ye and Wayne's time in the studio, as well as early co-signer, Pharrell, who's often compared to the young Neptunes disciple.
An official date for the documentary has yet to be announced, but you can get your first taste in the trailer down below. You can also catch Tyler The Creator this weekend at his festival where he'll be joined by the likes of Erykah Badu, Kamasi Washington, Kaytranada, Anderson .Paak, Toro Y Moi and plenty more.
