Trump Tower Shoppers Find KKK Hoods, Russian Flags In Gift Shop

The items were placed in the Trump Tower gift shop by two artists trying to prank shoppers.

In a report from Gothamist, Monday afternoon, an artist/prank duo went into New York City's Trump Tower gift shop and added Donald Trump-branded KKK hoods, urine-proof rubber sheets, and Russian flags, as well as postcards of Vladimir Putin and one dedicated to the flap of flesh near Trump's throat (known as a wattle), throughout the store.

"We thought the tourists coming in to buy some stuff, especially people from other countries, should get the whole story of who the president is, because the items in the Trump store don't accurately reflect the person," one of the two artists anonymously told Gothamist.

Some shoppers did not even seem to notice the added merchandise, with one of the artists saying: "My partner was in the back putting in some of the items and he said to someone, 'Oh did you see this?' and they didn't even bat an eye."

Ultimately, the employees caught wind of the items when Gothamist reporters attempted to buy one of the prank postcards, and immediately removed them from the store and called security. Upon returning an hour later, reporters had noticed that all of the fake merchandise had disappeared.
