OKP TV: Tristan Wilds AKA Mack Wilds Answers "The Questions"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.Tristan Wilds aka Mack Wilds answers "The Questions" for Okayplayer TV

You probably know young Tristan Wilds as a TV star from his roles in 90210 and HBO's The Wire. You may even know recognize his face from his career as a Rocawear model. But please allow him to reintroduce himself. Forget about Tristan for a moment; Mack Wilds is also a talented singer and aspiring rapper, with a debut album (dropping September 20th) that happens to be produced by none other than kingmaker Salaam Remi (Nas, The Fugees, Amy Winehouse, Miguel, etc. & etc.). In case the title New York: A Love Story doesn't clue you in on what type of album and what type of artist we are talking about here, this is not no autocroon "modern" R&B. Pete Rock & DJ Premier have production credits. Raekwon & Method Man make (brilliant) cameos. James Poyser of the gotdamn Roots is involved, is what I'm trying to tell you.

Yes, as a Shaolin native who as a toddler could be found kickin around the barber shop where Meth and Chef got their heads cut, Mack Wilds comes by his musical pedigree honestly. But since we are clearly going to have to forget everything you know about Tristan Wilds--and everything you thought you knew about actors-turnt-singers--we thought the best um, method of re-introduction was to ask the big questions. You know "The Questions." Like, Whats your favorite ice cream? What does that tattoo mean? Where's the best strip club in NYC? Where can we get chinese take-out after? Get the answers to "The Questions" below (and scroll down for the official video for Mack's first single "Own It").
