Tracy Morgan has filed suit against Walmart after a driver for the company caused a 6-car pile-up that left Morgan and several other comedians severely injured, claiming the life of his dear friend James McNair. As it was previously reported, the driver of the Walmart truck that ran into Morgan & Co's van that evening was, in fact, speeding and has been charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto.
According to Rolling Stone, the suit claims that the big-box company should have known that its driver was reaching nearly 24 hours of being awake and had clocked in nearly 700 miles of driving prior to the accident, neglecting and failing to enforce the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's regulations. The other parties in the suit are that of fellow comedian Ardie Fuqua, Jeffrey Millea and his wife Krista. We'll be keeping a close eye on the suit, but while all the legal fuss is getting sorted, we can certainly be happy to know that Morgan has been released from his rehabilitation center and is finishing his recovery from the comforts of his own home.
