An official announcement from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office declares he could face up to 22 years and eight months in state prison.

Tory Lanez has been charged with assaulting a woman in the Hollywood Hills, that woman is Megan Thee StallionToday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Lanez (Daystar Peterson)was hit with one felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm — personal use of a firearm — and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

According to an official announcement, he also “faces a gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.” Though the aforementioned documentation doesn’t include Megan’s name, it’s clear the incident in question was from the night in LA she’s explicitly shared involved Tory. TMZ reports the woman alluded to in the press release is Megan Thee Stallion.

The announcement also reads:

“On July 12, the defendant and the 24-year-old victim got into an argument while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. The victim exited the vehicle and Peterson is accused of shooting several times at her feet and wounding her. If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison. The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Hollywood Division.”

This follows the release of a new album alleging he wasn’t involved in the incident which the female rapper has spoken publicly about. After the incident on July 12, Megan didn’t speak out right away. Lanez was arrested that evening in Hollywood for possessing a concealed weapon. Megan and two others were in the vehicle during his arrest.

On August 20, the Houston rapper spoke out and alleged that Lanez was the shooter who left her foot wounded. In the Instagram Live she declared, “Yes, this n***a Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people to these blogs lying and s**t, stop lying!” Separately, she also took to Instagram to share graphic photos of her foot to rectify the claims that she actually wasn’t injured.

Today’s news clears up the allegations that Lanez wasn’t responsible for the shooting. Lanez’s arraignment is scheduled for October 13. Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta of the Family Violence Division is prosecuting the case.
