Timbaland Returns With New Single "Smile" ft. V Bozeman

Timbaland released his soaring new single "Smile" Tuesday, giving fans a fresh taste of his long-anticipated upcoming LP Opera Noir. Featuring the shimmering vocal talents of V Bozeman, "Smile," features Timbo's trademark gritty funk backbeat and mountainous layered vocals. It also deals in touching, simple sentiments: "Smile" is a song that pays tribute to an old, reliable love, the kind that's always there for better or for worse.

Fans of Fox's mega-success Empire will surely recognize Bozeman, who stars in the series and is both a formidable musical talent and on-screen presence in her own right. Her role on "Smile" is that of the caring confidant--one that she plays with stunning poise. It's a treat to hear her melodies grow and take flight over Timbaland's dynamic beat.

Compared to "Know Bout Me," Opera Noir's first single (which dropped almost two years ago), "Smile" is a much softer and more soothing affair. But then again, Timbaland has always proved to be a multi-faceted megatalent, and there's no reason to expect anything other than well-exectuted variety from the LP when it drops--reports indicate a late 2015 release. Opera Noir will also reportedly feature Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliott. Listen to "Smile" below.
