It’s been long and drawn-out creep to Theophilus London‘s sophomore effort Vibes. We received lo-fi funk-flecked joints like “Do Girls” and the Jesse Boykins III-blessed dance-floor freaker “Tribes” but the two fall so distantly form one another on the left-field spectrum that it’s been hard to tell where the album was going to end up. Now you may all rest assured that London’s mentorship by the music-minded fashionista that is Kanye West has not gone in vein. The self-anointed Yeezus even graces the album with an executive producer credit, a full blown feature on the broken-hearted gangsta balladry of “Can’t Stop” and certainly some after-the-records-cut touches.
The album will make its official drop next week on November 4th, boasting an all-star cast of features including the legendary Leon Ware (writer of Marvin Gaye‘s classic I Want You) fellow Brooklyn mainstay Dev Hynes, Soko and a slew of others. Luckily for us all, we won’t have to wait that long to decide on whether to come out of pocket for it, as you can stream the entirety of the album down below. And then if your ears remain pleased, you can go ahead and cop it on iTunes. Check out Theophilus London’s star-studded Vibes LP.
