Just in case you were wondering, The Weeknd is getting ready to release his third studio album, Starboy. And it's off to one helluva start. Following an introduction to his murderous alter-ego in the Daft Punk-assisted title track and video, The Weeknd has shared the new album's dizzying second single "False Alarm."

Changing the pace from creeping burn to propulsive dance pop, Abel builds another coke-addled suite that could be the product of lining up with the Franco-funk pioneers once more, though we won't be able to confirm until some credits are relinquished. It's a curveball for Weeknd fanatics, nonetheless, but one you might not be able to shake anytime soon. For now, only Daft Punk has been revealed as a collaborator on Starboy, but with the album's release only a few months away, some of these blanks should be getting filled in sooner rather than later.

You can hear the latest from The Weeknd down below. He'll be performing at The Meadows Festival this Saturday just before hitting studio 8H as the musical guest on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. Pre-order your copy of Starboy on iTunes today ahead of its official release November 25th.
