The Roots team with Wawa and Welcome America to present The Philly 4th of July Jam on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway this Independence Day. The massive fest will follow ?uestlove and D'Angelo's groundbreaking Brothers In Arms performance and PSK aka Philadelphia Sound Konnoisseurs - the epic annual party at Voyeur - on July 3rd, serving as the crown jewel in a week's worth of festivities. The 4th of July Jam is hosted this year by Philadelphia comedian Kevin Hart and features performances from John Mayer, J. Cole, Grace Potter, Jill Scott, Ne-Yo and Demi Lovato. Those are just the guests we know about. If you know The Roots, you know they usually have a few things up their sleeves. The main event will be preceded by a deep bench of emerging acts presented by Pepsi on The ?uestlove Stage. Avery Sunshine, Go Go Morrow and Chill Moody will be out representing with a host of other newcomers. To sweeten the deal, the event is totally free. This means you should be in the place and plan to get there early. The whole city will be partying in the streets for what promises to be another epic jam. If you're too far away to make it out, all is not lost. This year's performance marks the first nationwide broadcast of the jam in hi-definition, courtesy of VH1. There's no excuse to miss this massive party. Peep Black Thought's glowing endorsement below. Check the mega-flyer above for event details. It all jumps off tomorrow!
