The Roots and Elvis Costello took the stage at Brooklyn Bowl on September 16th for a live performance of their collaborative LP Wise Up Ghost. A gritty, heartfelt rendition of the sinister title track summed up the mood for the night, a big encore for the epic show as the band matched the audience's roaring applause with their final barrage of sonic intensity. Costello and The Roots Crew ran through the plaintive, yet dramatic--in a Paul McCartney x James Bond kinda way-- classic rock-infused anthem for the capacity crowd, conjuring spirits and kicking things off in killer fashion. Best believe Okayplayer was there in full force with our three-piece suits pressed, our Doc Martens on and our bullhorns set to "Joe Clark."
