Taylor Bennett has come out as bisexual in celebration of his forthcoming birthday.

The younger brother of Chance The Rapper, the soon to be 21-year-old Bennett told fans on Twitter that he wanted to begin the new year by being "more open about myself to help others that struggle with the same issues."

"Growing up I've always felt indifferent about my sexuality and being attracted to one sex, and today I would like to openly come out to my fans," Bennett added. "I do recognize myself as a bisexual male and do and have always openly supported the gay community, and will keep doing so in 2017."

A couple of weeks back Bennett also unveiled a teaser trailer for his forthcoming Broad Shoulders short film, which is dropping next week. The 45 second clip finds Bennett offering a commentary on the idea of caring about and for people, with the story seeming to be centered around him and his lover.

Broad Shoulders borrows its name from the last mixtape (and collaborative track between him and brother Chance) Bennett dropped, which was back in December 2015. The 10 track project featured appearances from King Louie, Joey Purp, Nico (formerly known as Donnie Trumpet) and, of course, Chance.

In an interview with Fake Shore DriveDanny Farber, a producer for the Broad Shoulders short film, elaborated more on what the project hopes to do.

"The short film encompasses a lot of the raw emotion that Taylor had experienced while he wrote the project and is a visual representation that takes the audience through the album track by track and is similar to Donald Glover's Clapping For The Wrong Reasons or Kanye West's Runaway," Farber said.

The interview also mentions that Broad Shoulders will also follow Bennett's upbringing in the inner city of Chicago, and the adversity he has faced that has shaped him into who he is today.
