Talib Kweli has big plans for this weekend, it seems. After briefly teasing fans with word of a new album via his Instagram account Thursday night, the MC delivered this morning with new single "Fuck The Money," featuring the talents of South African rapper Cassper Nyovest. And according to Kweli's claims, this is just the beginning; "Fuck The Money" is the titular lead single of Kweli's new album, which may be dropping as early as Friday (we'll keep you updated).

Those who have signed up to Kweli's website will be receiving email notifications when the Fuck the Money LP is available--and when it is it'll be true to its title, meaning that it'll be shipped out completely free of charge.

With regards to the new single, fans of Kweli's Black Star-era work might find themselves a bit disoriented. Warped vocal loops and a modernist crashing beat define the song, which repeats its simple but necessary directive over and over (and over) until it becomes mantra. Kweli shouts out profit sharing, profiteering, luxury goods and necessary evils as all elements of the suspect economies that reign over us, seemingly aiming to if not obliterate, than at least problematize it all. There's value in awareness, but from there it's on us all to act. Listen to "Fuck the Money" below and be on the lookout for the full album to drop very soon.
