Takeoff’s Alleged Killer Has Been Arrested in Houston

An arrest has been made pertaining to the death of Migos rapper Takeoff in Houston, Texas.

Houston’s Police Department announced they’ve made an arrest in the shooting death of Migos rapper Takeoff.

During a news conference, the police stated that Patrick Xavier Clark has been charged with murder in connection to the rapper’s death reports AP.

The artist whose full name is Kirsnick Khari Ball was one of three people police said were shot outside a private party at 810 Billiards & Bowling around 2:30 a.m. local time on November 1. At the time of the incident, Takeoff was with Quavo, his uncle. The shooting happened when an argument erupted just as 40 people were leaving the party at the downtown bowling alley. At least two people opened fire.

A previous report by TMZ stated Ball was playing a dice game when the argument broke out, he was then inflicted with a gunshot wound in his head and torso, Quavo and others tried to help. Ball was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man and woman suffered non-life-threatening gunshot injuries.

At the news conference, Sergeant Michael Barrow said Takeoff was “an innocent bystander.”

Quality Control Records and countless others in the rap community mourned the death of Takeoff last month. A statement the label shared on Instagram, stated:

“It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother, Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff. Senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated. Please respect his family and friends as we all continue to process this monumental loss.”

Takeoff’s memorial service took place in Atlanta at the State Farm Arena, and celebrities including Drake and Justin Bieber reportedly performed at the service.

Prior to his untimely death, Quavo and Takeoff released a collaborative album Only Built For Infinity Links. The last Migos album which included Offset arrived in 2021: Culture III.
