Hip-Hop Radio Legends Stretch & Bobbito Reminisce On-Air w/ Angie Martinez

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

"If you happen to be maybe twelve years old and you're tuned in right now.."

Those words from Power 105 host Angie Martinez served as the perfect tongue-in-cheek opening to her recent interview with two towering legends of NYC hip-hop radio: the mighty DJ Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia. The two men were all smiles as they sat down with Martinez to reminisce about the past and talk a bit of hype for their newly-released film Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives. Martinez herself stresses that their regular show on WKCR was one that she herself tuned in to, followed and was inspired by their show--to the extent that she even listened to them while she herself was on the air.

Martinez herself plays a part in Radio that Changed Lives and, as this new interview progresses, proves herself to be the perfect person to interview these fellows. Bobbito opens up about breaking songs from Notorious B.I.G., the Wu-Tang Clan and more, giving us the perfect teaser of what to expect once we finally cop tickets to the film (weekend plans=set). Watch the full interview between Stretch, Bobbito and Ms. Martinez below and get more info on Radio That Changed Livesover here.
