On Saturday, Spotify took its RapCaviar Live concert to Coney Island Boardwalk's Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn. The streaming platform partnered with Verizon and brought together an exciting lineup featuring Harlem's new star, Sheck Wes, Philly's Tierra Whack, DJ SpinKing, and a headlining set from Chicago's Chance the Rapper.
DJ SpinKing was joined on stage by special guests Jim Jones, Uncle Murda, Young M.A and Pardison Fontaine.
Whack and Wes opened up for the three-time Grammy Award-winning 25-year-old, Chance, who hit the stage at around 10p.m. He walked out to a sold-out show, fireworks, and his 2016 fan-favorite, "All Night.”
Chance delivered a grand gospel-infused, house-party performance backed by the Social Experiment band, running through Coloring Book selects, and a double performance of his Kanye West and Kirk Franklin collaboration, "Ultralight Beam."
He also performed “Blessings”, “No Problem”, “I’m The One”, “I Might Need Security”, “Work Out”, “Wala Cam”, and “65th & Ingleside.” Before closing out the night, he thanked his fans and revisited his 2012 debut tape, 10 Day, before sitting on the stage steps and delivering an intimate performance of “Same Drugs.”
He ended the show with an electrifying encore of “Blessings,” as a blast of colorful confetti showered the crowd.
