SpaceGhostPurrp - Mysterious Phonk (LP art)
For those who like a little Purrp in their Phonk--but not so much the SpaceGhost. SpaceGhostPurrp's label 4Ad has released a full instrumental album for his LP Mysterious Phonk unto the interscape yesterday, although it was mostly unobtainable due to the downloading frenzy of bloggers and their momses crashing the relevant servers (link below--if you have issues, let us know in the comments section and we'll post an alternate). The takeaway: kid got beats, and as we discussed (read the full Okayplayer interview with SpaceGhostPurrp here) with him he's rated by many as a producer first, rapper second. And now let the freestyles and remixes commence. All we ask is that somebody please smuggle an mp3 of the "Osiris Of The East" beat and a handheld digital recorder into Jay Electronica's jail cell in a Turkish maximum security prison (or wherever he may be). The Mysterious Phonk instrumental LP will be available on limited-edition vinyl this coming Monday, September 3rd.
