Cee-Lo Green x Lauriana Mae "Only You" [Video]

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Cee-Lo Green teamed with Lauriana Mae for "Only You" - the first single from his forthcoming LP Everybody's Brother - which dropped in January. The track features Green giving the consistently stellar grits and glory vocal for which he's become known with Lauriana M. singing along in lockstep - she does a particularly awesome job of complimenting the soul machine on the highs of the chorus. As the walls come tumbling down what sounds like a love song for the one that got away quickly becomes a metaphor for the world that's crumbling beneath our feet. Against the cinematic backdrop developed around the song, the lyrics suddenly seem to charge each individual to do their part to make it better. The video, directed by Ethan Lader, features the singers making their way to the edge of what's left of Los Angeles after the city has swelled, pixelated and folded in on itself in an origami of a domino effect that belies the obvious devastation with a crisp beauty. Considering the chops of both singers and Cee-Lo's legendary costume choices, it will be interesting to see what they do with this track live.
