Slum Village Shares New J Dilla-Produced Single "Expressive" feat. BJ THE CHICAGO KID

It's always a good day for some new-ish funk from The GOAT, J Dilla, whose vaulted recordings have been making their way to the world beat by beat over the past few months. Whether by way of unearthed beat tape or repurposed sonic specimen, Jay Dee's alive and well in 2015, and we could not be more thrilled to say it so. One of the many vehicles for Dilla's sustenance has been his old clique, Slum Village, who have slowly, but surely been mounting a comeback with their forthcoming LP YES!. Having already graced us with heaters like the Phife Dawg-blessed "Push It Along" and the introspective, drunken drummer's dream "E(I)GO,"  But today we've got another audible treat to feed your hungry musical appetites in the latest cut to make its way from the album; the thick and thorough new joint "Expressive," which finds lil bro Illa J dishing a few bars and BJ The Chicago Kid on a luscious and layered hook; an instant recall to the Fantastic days, when Dilla himself and D'Angelo would have been the go-tos for vocal treatments. But we certainly aren't mad, as Illa and BJ make for damn good stand-ins. Rock with Slum Village's seductive new joint "Expressive" and keep your head on a swivel for their YES! LP, slated or a June 16th release.
