My oh my it’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything in the way of new material from Santigold. Four months back, we heard rumbles of new frequencies when her track “Radio” surfaced on the Paper Towns OST, but it appears the Philadelphian genre-smasher has a much larger plan for the year outside of what we then thought was just a cool, cold loosie. Today, she took to the cloud-waves with Zane Lowe to premiere the bubbly new cut “Can’t Get Enough Of Myself,” of course garnering Lowe’s “World’s Hottest Record” stamp, because, well, it is just that good, just that infectious. Leaning a little heavier on the pop stylings, Santi and producer Patrik Berger craft an uplifting gem out of a driving drum track, synth swirls and playful melodies, all coming together perfectly on the swaggering new track, brimming with confidence. But perhaps most intriguing about the Beats 1 appearance; the announcement of the new record 99¢, which will play home to the new track. No date has been announced just yet for the new piece, but you can be sure of where you’ll find it once details start rolling out. Put your ears to the new heat from Santigold below and hold tight for the next transmission.
