Sampha Drops "Slow Lights" Instrumental

Sampha takes a step away from the mic for a bit, letting loose a glitchy specimen of an instrumental with "Slow Lights." While most of us were probably waiting for a track boasting more than a vocal chop, the UK crooner threw us a curveball with this synthy strut, patched together with a metallic bounce and some distorted licks, recalling Prince's early work and maybe even a nod to the ever-innovative masters of electronica Kraftwerk. Its a welcome break to the bleeding heart ballads of past and an introduction to the more dynamic, production savvy side of Sampha that we're all gonna be chomping at the bit for. Still no word on a release date nor name on his upcoming full-length solo debut, but you can be sure we'll have more as soon as details unfold.
