Ledisi & John Scofield Join Robert Glasper On A Very Funky New Cut From 'Everything's Beautiful'
It's been a long time coming, but it won't be too much longer until we hear the full reveal of Robert Glasper's all-star Miles Davis-sampling tributary Everything's Beautiful. First we heard Bilal wail over "Ghetto Walkin'" (a flip of Davis' "The Ghetto Walk",) then we caught a partial Little Brother reunion on the Phonte-assisted, 9th Wonder-produced waves-for-days special "Violets." Today, a third single from the project has been revealed with the arrival of the relentlessly funky "I'm Leaving You," which samples just a lone vocal line grabbed from Miles' Jack Johnson sessions and featured contributions from Ledisi, as well as John Scofield, who actually played with Miles late in his career. Listen to "I'm Leaving You" along with the full track list for the album down below and if your interests are thoroughly piqued upon completion, pre-order Robert Glasper's Everything's Beautiful on iTunes today ahead of its official May 27th release. Other artists slated to make an appearance include Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, KING, Laura Mvula, Hiatus Kaiyote and more. (Read: treat yourself ASAP.)
