Robert Glasper Hits NPR's Tiny Desk Concert + New EP & Tour Dates

The supremely gifted pianist/arranger/producer/organic soul figurehead Robert Glasper has been a busy man as of late. He stopped by NPR's studios to drop some fire on the public airwaves with has latest line-up of experimenters and sonic voyagers taking the stripped-down format Tiny Desk Concert to new heights. Where most participants simply invite their guitar player along to churn out a few bare tracks, Glasper ropes collaborator and former Floetry member Marsha Ambrosius to belt out the soulful jazz croon of "Trust,"just before taking the small office show to The Blue Note for a night of improv chops and fusion.

Never idle for too long, RG recently digitally released his Black Friday Record Store Day drop Porter Chops Glasper, where Mr. Porter --featured on Black Radio 2-- takes his sampling game to the fuzed-soul of Glasper's cuts, injecting the Jill Scott-assisted "Calls" with some of the more boom-bap tinged sensibilities from his work with Eminem--and even gets a guest verse out of the now bubbling Pharoahe Monch. On top of it all, the ever-prolific Glasper is taking his show back on the road both backing and sharing the bill with Ledisi. All in all, we've got a lot to look forward to from the neo-soul wizard. You can catch Robert Glasper & Co rocking on Tiny Desk Concert below and be sure check after the jump for full tour dates to bear witness to the experiment.
