Sign A Petition to Have A Queens Park Named In Phife Dawg's Honor

Over the last six days, hip-hop and the world at large has opened its heart in remembering the late Malik "Phife Dawg" Taylor, who passed away last week due to complications with Type 1 Diabetes. The memorials and salutes have been plentiful, and rightfully so, as we continue to keep Phife's name and legacy alive. Outside of the sonic hat tips and memorials, however, there has been a call to eternalize Phife's name by other means, particularly, in the naming of Queens' St. Albans Park in Phife's honor. That call initially came from fellow A Tribe Called Quest founder, Jarobi White, but does not stop at the naming of a park (as you can see below.) White also requested a mural in dedication to The Five Foot Assassin as well as having a stretch of Sayres Ave in Queens renamed in Phife's honor. We can't speak to whether all of these initiatives have been undertaken yet, but someone has certainly heeded White's call for the park, crafting a petition, which is live and making rounds already. You can sign that petition by hitting the link below. To hear the hip-hop community weigh-in on the passing of our dear Phife Dawg, jump back to Q-Tip's recent episode ofAbstract Radio, where OutKast, Kendrick Lamar and more sent up a prayer.
