Redman
He doesn't get the credit he deserves, but quiet as kept, Redman is one of the greatest MCs of all time. The Brick City native has classic records like Whut? Thee Album and Muddy Waters on his resume. And as far as the MC qualifications, Redman has the full package: an unmistakable voice, a distinctive flow, memorable punchlines, strong songwriting skills, and a warped sense of humor. Artists like Eminem have praised him as an important influence on their creativity and love for hip-hop.
In the new music video for "Wus Really Hood," Redman shows that he's still got rhymes - and weed, of course - on deck. The lyricist born Reggie Noble continues tradition, wrecking a hard-hitting beat from longtime collaborator Rockwilder, who he has been working with since his 1996 album Muddy Waters. The rest of the video shows footage of him puffing herb, and fans rocking out to a festival performance by him and partner-in-rhyme Method Man. "Wus Really Good" is a snack-sized offering from Mudface, his 2015 album that features production by the likes of Illmind, Theory Hazit and Jahlil Beats.
