Raekwon Delivers Nothing But Heat For 'The Rap Monument'
Raekwon's supreme verbal athleticism was put on shine as he delivered his fiery contribution to Noisey's 30-rappers-in-30-minutes track "The Rap Monument."Their scheme seems to be a formidable one, inviting the top-tier of rap-game olympians to lay their rhymes over a beat produced by the spry and prolific sonic sculptors Hudson Mohawke and Nick Hook. That's 30 of your favorite word wizards and one endlessly dope production rocking for 30 minutes straight, rekindling the cannon of obnoxiously long rap songs akin to say, "Rapper's Delight" or your corner cypher, but without any cypher in any real sense and with the likes of Action Bronson, Danny Brown, Pusha T, Prodigy and much too many more yours (and our) favorite MCs to put down in these few hundred words. You can watch The Chef as he cooks something up for "The Rap Monument" below, just be sure to stay tuned for new installments over the weeks to come. And if you're itching for some new treatments from the Shaolin assassin, you can go cop the freshly dropped Wu-Tang Clan reunion piece A Better Tomorrow on iTunes today for all of the rugged and raw your little hearts and ears can bear.
