UPDATE: Rae Sremmurd's stepbrother who was arrested for their stepfather's murder is reportedly mentally ill.
Rae Sremmurd's mother Bernadette Walker has shared that Michael Sullivan, her son who's been accused of murdering his father, her ex-husband suffers from mental illness that requires medication, according to TMZ. She also claims he has been off of his medication lately.
Walker also reportedly noted that Michael deals with Schizoaffective disorder, a chronic mental health condition which is marked by symptoms of schizophrenia, including hallucinations. Additionally, symptoms of a mood disorder can become present such as mania and depression.
In the report she also shared Michael was living with her in Atlanta until this past November, she says he stopped taking his meds which led to frequent outbursts of anger. She also told TMZ he eventually went to live with his dad, Floyd in Mississippi. At the moment, she is unsure what caused Michael to allegedly shoot his father but she suspects an argument may have taken place and that her son was off of his medication again.

According to WTVA 9 News after the hip-hop group's stepbrother Michael Sullivan was released from a local psychological care facility, he was arrested for murder around 5:30 p.m. yesterday.
He was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Lee County Sheriff's Department.

The shooting reportedly took place in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Rae Sremmurd’s stepfather who helped raise the group has been fatally shot in Mississippi, the duo’s younger brother is currently in custody.
According to TMZ, Tupelo police department says officers were dispatched Monday night to a home where they found a man who’d died on the scene from a couple of gunshot wounds. The Lee County Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed that the victim is their 62-year-old stepdad Floyd Sullivan.
At the moment, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi’s younger half brother, 19, is being held for a psychiatric evaluation. He is a person of interest in the shooting. Police have said that no one else is being sought in connection to the death.
Sullivan raised the group since they were in middle school after he’d moved to Mississippi with their mother, Bernadette.
