R. Kelly Arrested on New Sex Trafficking & Child Pornography Charges
Update: On Friday, July 12 R. Kelly’s publicist Darrell Johnson held a press conference about the status of his client.
During the press conference, he was interrupted by the father of one of Kelly’s alleged victims, Joycelyn Savage. The father, named Timothy Savage, walked up to the publicist and said “I don’t wanna hear all that…I wanna know where my daughter’s at? Answer that question!”

R. Kelly was arrested in Chicago.
R.Kelly was arrested on federal sex trafficking and child pornography charges on Thursday, July 11th. This new arrest comes as the singer is already facing more than a dozen state sexual abuse charges.
According to NBC News, who broke the story, Kelly was walking his dog in Chicago when Homeland Security Investigations agents and NYPD detectives approached the singer around 7 p.m. CST. He was arrested and hit with 13 counts.
U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman Joseph Fitzpatrick told the Associated Press that “the counts include child porn, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice.”
This is the third time Kelly has been arrested this year. In February, after the devastating Surviving R. Kelly premiered, the singer was hit with 10 counts in Illinois. Then in May, he was hit with 11 more sex-related counts by Cook County prosecutors. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
