Questlove Will Craft A New Taco Recipe—For Charity

Questlove Dust And Grooves 2

Questlove's foray into the culinary world apparently knows no bounds. It seems that if the prolific drummer, DJ, producer, writer and, of course, Roots Crew bandleader isn't noshing on waffles with Anthony Bourdain, he's tightening up the paragraphs of a new book dedicated solely to food. Now, we've just received word that Quest will be partnering with Los Angeles restaurant HomeState to create a special taco. Yes, you read that right--soon West Coast residents will be able to chow down on Tex-Mex that's tailored to Mr. Thompson's personal specifications.

It's all a part of HomeState's Band Taco program, which will bring a new taco to its menu each month. Proceeds from Questlove's taco, along with the others, will go to support scholarships at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

Other musical acts including Fitz & The Tantrums, Cherry Glazzer, Cold War Kids and Spoon will all be bringing their own personalized tacos to the table at HomeState, and as soon as we get either a recipe list or first-hand taste test of Questlove's preferred jalapeño jawn, we'll be sure to bring you up to speed. Currently, Spoon's softshell breakfast taco is being served at the restaurant, and Pitchfork notes that it comes with migas, pico de gallo, avocado and monterrey jack cheese.
