Questlove Gets Meta About Mo' Meta Blues

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Amongst the June 18 album releases was another exciting hip-hop delivery from Questlove: his memoir Mo' Meta Blues hit shelves (and iPads and Kindles and other non-paper-based reading devices) for your literary pleasure and music history enlightenment. In an interview with FuseTV, he talked about everything from being mistaken for a member The Fugees or the drummer from The Black Eyed Peas (really guys?) to why he's "indifferent" about music journalism:

"...as a person who's as much of a fan of music journalists as artists to whom they write about, there's a void in my heart that's left me a tad bit indifferent to music journalism. I find myself celebrating more when a journalist has left the publication. The problem with letting people know my passion for journalism is that I also feel there's one or two writers out there who just for the spite of it will snark me to make a mark."

He also relayed his reluctance to actually commit his story to paper and how he feels about reading it now that it's all in one piece:

"Writing this was like being in college. This is nothing like serial tweeting. It was like turning in 18 Quest exams. There was one point, though, where I forgot I was reading my story and I was actually in third person reading this guy's story. But one of my biggest fears is that my story was boring and not exciting enough."
