Crystal Ball: Prince Is Throwing A 'Piano And A Microphone' Gala At Paisley Park
Prince recently announced two intimate solo Piano & A Microphone shows at his Paisley Park recording complex in Chanhassen, Minnesota on January 21st. There was plenty of fan frenzy, but not too many details.
Until now.
The shows for the gala event will include songs from Prince's 39-album catalogue. Scheduled for 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM, each performance on the 21st will feature a "unique set-list that evolves in real time song-to-song." With new takes on fan favorites, B-sides, rarities and new never-before-heard material, this is truly an event that no true "Computer Blue" Prince fan should miss.
When asked about the decision to play a solo piano show, Prince responded:
"For several reasons. For starters it is a challenge. You have to try new things. With the piano it is more naked, more pure. You can see exactly what you get."
Ticket sales began at 12:00 PM PST on January 16th. VIP tickets to the events will be sold first.
