Prince Drops A Sultry Surprise w/ "HARDROCKLOVER"
A few weeks back, Prince played a very special set in a very important building in Washington, DC where a very important family happens to rest their heads at night. And this morning, His Purple Majesty (or, more realistically, one of his many henchmen or women) took to Twitter to drop off a steamy new joint for y'all to start your day with. "HARDROCKLOVER," at least lyrically, is sort of a call to arms for modern r&b, while the composition itself is something more reminiscent of his 3rdEyeGirl collaborations; blistering six string action and seductive wordplay that should resonate with the Dirty Mind-ed purple patron. It's our first taste of something new from the legend since his Freddie Gray tribute "Baltimore," offering a hard-nosed successor to the vintage outing that was that tender and poignant cut, which was as timely and necessary as anything we've heard our of Paisley Park as of late. There's no word on where or when The Purple One will hit his next stage, but you already know where to get the scoop when word gets out. So in the meantime, rock with the new digs from Prince and stream his latest lust-soaked loosie "HARDROCKLOVER" below.
