Prince's "If I Was Your Girlfriend" - the classic smut and synth love jam from his 1987 Sign o' the Times LP - gets a slight rework with DJ Vadim's Re Rub. Vadim raises the levels on this track and toys around with the drums to deliver a jagged rhythm that walks with a limp but still carries the syrupy load of Prince's heavy electro-funk groove. After digging it out of storage, DJ Vadim delivered the rearranged track with a sweet little love note:
THIS is just a lil re rub re edit re fix i did of one of my favourite artists a few years back. its not really a fully fledged remix so i cannot take mad credit. more a rearrangement, changed the drums, added a little more bass. its been sitting in my vaults and i thought i had already posted it but no. So its fresh n clean 4 U, and since i'm in mnpls rite now. enjoy your prince fix.... such a great song.
