Pharrell is contributing three tracks to the forthcoming soundtrack to Disney's animated comedy Despicable Me 2. The sequel features Steve Carrell and Russell Brand reprising their voiceover roles from the 2010 film."Happy" is a simple Motown-inflected pop jam that seems appropriate for the setting. Many aspects of the song remind me of Cee Lo Green, which makes sense because he is also featured on the album. Heitor Pereira composed the score in addition to working hands on with Pharrell doing production duties. The two collaborated together on the first Despicable Me film. The soundtrack will be released June 18th with the film hitting theaters on July 3rd. Stream Pharrell's "Happy" below.
