Pell Changes Course On The Edgy New Single "Cafe Du Monde'"

It's always a pleasure to see one of our First Look alums hitting their stride in the big leagues. Way back in 2013, our editor-in-chief had the pleasure of putting the spotlight on one of NOLA's most compelling young talents;the half-rap/half-croon specialist we now know as Pell. Since then, he's dropped the critically-adored introduction tape Floating While Dreaming and shared stages with the likes of Kindness. And now he's gearing up for his full-length studio debut LIMBO, which seems poised to reveal a fuller, more mature sound from the effortlessly cool crooner, unleashing an edgy, change of pace single in "Cafe Du Monde." But don't be fooled by the title, this lurking, brooding new joint shares little with the confectionary-covered floors of the NOLA staple from which it borrows its name. "Cafe Du Monde" finds a markedly progressed Pell doing what he does best, stretching out for hooks and weaving intricate narratives, with TV On The Radio's Dave Sitekproviding the hard-hitting production. Hear Pell's latest offering "Cafe Du Monde" below and preorder the new album LIMBO on iTunes ahead of November 6th release.
