Flying Lotus's 'Kuso' Screenings Spark Disgust, Vomiting and Walk-Outs

Flying Lotus‘s directorial debut, Kuso, has been soaked with controversy (along with various bodily fluids) since its early 2017 premiere in Los Angeles. The film was said to have caused a grip of viewers to abruptly leave, or worse, keel over in a vomiting rage. Luckily, barf bags were provided. And it’s not like he didn’t warn them. Now the fledgling-turned-visionary director has announced that the film will be distributed nationwide this summer, though he hasn’t revealed when just yet.

Last week, FlyLo laced us with a grip of new cuts in a particularly active two-day streak that liberated two previously unreleased Thundercat collaboration and a Captain Murphy track. In discussion with Anderson .Paak for Interview Magazine, he revealed the conceptual origins of the film were rooted in late-night talks on Moorish National history with Shafiq Husayn, and the film’s original title, The Free Nationals.

Though there’s no date, the producer/director/BRAINFEEDER kingpin seems sure that will be resolved on the sooner end of things. Hold tight for updates on the release of Kuso in the weeks ahead. Flying Lotus is slated to perform at various festival, both stateside and abroad, this summer. Peep those dates below along with the film’s full trailer.
