The musical wizardry of Souls Of Mischief‘s Opio & and enigmatic beat scene alum Free The Robots has been well documented over the years. Earlier this year, the duo graced us with the the vibes on their four-track The Subconscious Mind EP. Then last month, they delivered the hard-knocking, boom-bap-fortified single “Point Of View,” teasing the imminent dopeness of their debut Sempervirens LP. And now, the full-length piece is here in all of its spacey, psychedelic glory. As we’ve learned from the duo’s past outings, the Hiero veteran’s hazy rhyme scheme makes for a brilliant pairing with the wavy wonderments of FTR’s chops; cover-to-cover, a masterful exploration of otherworldly consciousness and planet-jumping hip-hop. So here it is, straight from a Redwood Forest grove. You can stream Opio & Free The Robots’ debut full-length album Sempervirens down below, but if you happen to be on the other side of the great pond, you can catch the duo at Melkweg in Amsterdam on October 1st or in Paris on October 4th rocking at Be Street Weekend. Preorder your copy of the new record on iTunes ahead of tomorrow’s official release.
