Gymnast Katelyn Ohashi Shouts Out Nicki Minaj and Cardi B in ESPYS Speech

"Two thriving females rappers everyone should see."

Gymnast Katelyn Ohashi wants the public to stop pitting Cardi B and Nicki Minaj against each other.

During her acceptance speech for the Best Play award at the 2019 ESPY Awards Wednesday night (July 10), the 22-year-old gymnast recited a powerful poem where she mentioned the sexism rooted in believing women in the same field can't co-exist without competition.

"The objectification of our bodies is making me sick, pitting women sports against each other acting as if they can't co-exist. It's like saying Chedda Da Connect can't go with flick of da wrist or what about Nicki Minaj or Cardi B? Two thriving females rappers everyone should see," Ohashi said in the poem.
